The First Sunday of Advent ~ Sunday, November 27
November 27 is the first Sunday of Advent. Included in our worship:
· It is the feast day of Kamehameha and Emma, King and Queen of Hawaii, (1885). Enjoy the pineapple after each service! They were Episcopal converts who helped found Queen's Hospital, St. Cross School, St. Andrew's Priory, and St. Mark's Mission Kapahulu. The Clergy are wearing stoles of Hawaiian fabric. Our 5/6th grade class meets in the Kamehameha and Emma room in the Annex.
· A Simple Advent Home Ritual: A copy will be in your bulletin. Extras will also be in the pews – take as many as you need for family and friends. We light a candle each week of Advent as we prepare for the birth of Christ.
· Please take a tag from our annual Angel Tree in the Parish Hall and support those in our community in need. All unwrapped gifts must be brought to Calvary by next Sunday, December 4 so they can be delivered on time. The gifts will be given to the local social services departments for distribution. Thank you to all who donate so generously and make this Outreach program so rewarding!
